Hello and welcome to Elm Class!
We are a KS1 specialist provision within a self-contained unit of rooms and a secure outside play area.
Mrs Hunt is the class teacher and unit lead and our HLTA is Mrs Savage. Our TAs are Mrs Watson, Mrs Hartley, Mrs Hussain, Mrs Betts and Miss Capewell. We start the day at 9 am and finish at 3pm and enter and exit through the main entrance. We offer a high adult:child ratio, with a nurturing, child centred approach.
We follow the EYFS curriculum which is differentiated in order to meet the individual needs of the individual children. Our unit has a sensory room, a main learning room and two smaller learning rooms and a large kitchen area for snack and lunch time. In addition we have a toilet cubicle and a changing cubicle. Our outside area has a small forest school area to explore, water play area, several wooden gazebos and a large sandpit for the children to play in.
We have PE twice a week in the hall with our PE teacher Mr Entwhistle, and a music session in our class with our Music teacher Mrs Dalton. We have sensory circuit every morning, regular Attention Autism bucket time sessions, plus other fun sessions such as weekly cosmic yoga, Joe Wicks kids, parachute games etc
Please make sure all your children’s clothes and all personal items and bring in a water bottle/juice bottle every day.
