Welcome to Pine’s Class Page. I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break and a well earned rest. This is our favourite term of the year! We can take our learning outside and make the most of the sunshine!

All of the children have worked really hard over the last academic year, developing their phonic knowledge, their spelling skills and their handwriting as well as learning about different text types. In the next term, we will look forward to writing for all sorts of different purposes, such as report writing, poems and stories.

In maths, the topics Stone Pine have covered include statistics and methods for multiplication, as well as understanding the effects of multiplying and dividing numbers by 10 and 100. In Sand Pine, we have developed our understanding of place value of numbers within 50, with some of us building confidence with smaller numbers and learning to subitise.

As the weather warms up, please remember to apply suntan lotion and to send a summer hat or cap to protect your child from the sun.

PE will still take place on a Tuesday. Bring in your PE kits at the start of term and these can stay in the classroom until the end of term. We have loved Forest Schools this term, but it is somebody else’s turn now!

Keep checking DOJO for latest updates (and for more detailed information about your child’s learning) and to see your child’s amazing work!

Finally, we are really trying to develop our garden area and I am hoping to assemble a working party for this. For now, if you have any of the following: spare pots of edible herbs, compost, soft bark chippings or anything else which you think might enhance our outdoor area, please do get in touch via Dojo!

With best wishes, Miss Matthews, Mrs Roberts and all of the Pine Staff
