Happy New Year!

We hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday and a time to rest and relax.

We are really looking forward to this new term in Elder Class and can’t wait to see the amazing progress your children will make.

In our English lessons we are going to be writing our own poems, then we will become diary writers, writing about The Great Fire of London before writing a report all about pirates! Ahoy there me hearties!

In maths we will be learning all about money, multiplication and division as well as measuring too – we will be super busy!

Our PE lessons will continue with Mr Entwhistle on Mondays where we will continue to do gymnastics and in our Friday lesson our unit will be dance.

Reading continues to be vital in Elder class, the more you can read with and to your child at home the better, it not only helps improve their reading fluency but also develops their love of reading and increases the vocabulary they can use in speaking and writing.

We can’t wait to see your child continue to grow and blossom this term. As always, if you have any questions please do get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Beck & Mrs Lawrence,

The Year 2 Elder Team!
